Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: pick up & transfer to Kibale Forest National park
You will have an early pick up from your hotel or the airport and set off to Kibale forest National park. Have a stopover at Nakayima tree where local people perform rituals as they pray and worship their gods. Proceed to Fort portal for lunch and a brief visit to the Amabere ga Nyinamwiru if you wish. Later one, proceed to Kibale Forest National park arriving in the evening.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi nature walk
Enjoy your heavy breakfast at the lodge and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information Centre for registration with park wardens. You will be assembled with other travelers if any and taken through a briefing on the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest is home to the highest number of chimpanzees in Africa which makes it a primate capital of Africa. In addition to chimpanzees, Kibale Forest is home to 12 other primates such as vervet monkeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed colobus, black and white-tailed monkeys, Grey cheeked monkeys and baboons among others, the forest also shelters over 300 bird species and a variety of buffer flies which make it an exceptional tourism destination.

Day 3: Nature walk and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
In the early morning, have an optional nature walk to catch up with early-rising birds which sing sweetly in the trees. Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast, check out and depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive between the two parks is amazing through tea plantations and local farms.

Day 4: Game Viewing & boat cruise
Go for a morning game drive to see early risers browsing and predators hunting before the sun rises. Being the second-largest national park in Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National park shelters a high concentration of wild animals such as buffalos, Elephants, Lions, Waterbucks, Warthogs, Uganda Kobs, and Hippos among others. You will return to the lodge for late breakfast and relax at the lodge as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, join a boat cruise at Kazinga channel to enjoy freshwater air and scenic views. The 40 kilometers channel connects Lake Edward and Gorge and the 3 hours’ boat cruise is worth doing. The banks of the Kazinga channel are home to numerous bird species such as Hemmerkops, Ibises, African Fish Eagle, African Kingfisher, White egrets, Yellow-billed stork, Long-tailed cormorants, African Skimmer and black crake among others. A cruise offers you a fresh feeling of cold breeze and clear views of fishing villages.

Day 5: ishasha and transfer to Buhoma in Bwindi forest
After breakfast, check out and drive to ishasha sector in the southern region of Queen Elizabeth National park. Ishasha is famous for sheltering the tree climbing lions which are rarely found elsewhere in East Africa. Look up in the acacia tree where lions will be feasting on their preys while others resting. Later on drive out of Queen Elizabeth National Park headed to Bwindi forest National park in Buhoma sector.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla trekking & community visit
The long-awaited day of trekking the endangered mountain gorillas is today! Enjoy your heavy breakfast and drive to the Buhoma gorilla region where pre-gorilla trekking briefing and registration takes place. You will be put together with other 7 people to make a group of eight as recommended by Uganda Wildlife Authority. At 8:00 am start up a hike to look for the allocated gorilla family. You can spend over 7 hours in the jungle before meeting the endangered mountain gorillas. The actual time to spend with gorillas is strictly an hour but it’s worth it. Observe and enjoy the amazing behaviors of mountain gorillas similar to those of people. Each gorilla plays a different role in his/her family which makes it more interactive and enjoyable. Enjoy seeing the silverback gorilla protecting its family members, adult females feed babies while juveniles play continuously keeping the family lively.

Day 7: Departure
Wake up early, have breakfast, and drive through the rolling hills of Kabale and Ankole cattle farms headed to Kampala for your connecting flight at Entebbe International Airport.
