Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National park
Arrive at Entebbe International airport, meet and greet a driver-guide representing Authentic Africa Safaris. Spend the rest of the evening at your lodge as you prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee trek.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Bigodi nature walk
Early in the morning, have breakfast, get packed lunch, and transfer to Kanyanchu visitor information center where briefing and registration take place. Thereafter, start up a hike into the jungle forest searching for the endangered chimpanzees. The trek can last for between 2-6 hours but you are very sure of meeting the gentle giants at the end of the trek. The trek through the jungle also offers you great chances of meeting other primates in this forest which include Vervet monkeys, Red-tailed monkeys, Grey-cheeked mangabey, and Black and white colobus among others. You will also see a lot of bird species and butterflies which live in this jungle forest. In the afternoon, you will go for a nature walk to explore the natural environment on foot. The swamp shelters a variety of primates, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Forest national park
Today we depart from Kibale Forest to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National park. Have a delicious breakfast at your lodge, check out and embark on a journey to the gorilla park via ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National park. Enjoy lunch en route and proceed to Bwindi Forest connecting to the Buhoma sector in the northern region of the Impenetrable Forest.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla Trekking & Batwa community walk
We are trekking the endangered mountain gorillas today! Rise up early, have a well-spiced cup of coffee, and transfer to Bwindi park headquarters in Buhoma where you will be briefed about gorilla trekking. After registration, begin a hike up into the impenetrable forest looking for the gorilla family allocated to you. The hike is strenuous lasting for between 2-7 hours but the magical feeling of meeting gorillas at a close range is worth the effort. Buhoma is home to the oldest gorilla family in Bwindi and its where the first set of travelers visited. You will also meet other wild animals and birds which live in Bwindi Forest. Later in the day if time allows, visit Batwa local communities in the boundaries of the Forest to learn the traditions and cultures of these forest people. Traditional dances and songs are performed to tell more about these indigenous people.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi located in southwestern Uganda. Spend the whole day relaxing on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi which ranks as the second deepest lake in Africa. Enjoy a boat cruise to visit different islands of Lake Bunyonyi such as the punishment island where unmarried pregnant women would be taken and left to die in isolation. The other islands on lake Bunyonyi include Bushara, Bucuraniko, Kyahungye and Bwama among others. The cruise also offers you scenic views of the neighboring rolling hills of Uganda terraced for farming. If you love swimming, enjoy a dive into the fresh dep waters of Lake Bunyonyi.
