The 1 Day Rwanda gorilla trek to Volcanoes National Park is the shortest way to see the endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda. The trip starts very early at 4:00 am with a pick up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali and drive northwest to Volcanoes National park home to the endangered mountain gorillas. The drive time from Kigali to Volcanoes National park is roughly 3 hours to catch up with the pre gorilla trekking briefing at Kinigi park headquarters.
Trip details
The driver guide from authentic Africa safaris will pick you up from Kigali airport and transfer you to Volcanoes National park. Assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. At 8:00 am, you will start up a hike into the jungle searching for the gorillas. The real-time to hike up and down hills before meeting gorillas ranges between 2 to over 7 hours depending on where gorillas will be. On meeting the allocated gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend an hour in their presence. Remember to keep a 10 meters’ distance from the gorillas to avoid close contact. You will then hike down and find your driver-guide waiting for you. Thereafter, drive back to Kigali for your connecting flight or a night at your hotel
