This Park is known for harboring Rwanda’s chimps and other primate species that are seen roaming around. Nyungwe Park protects the largest montane forest in East Africa that has become home to the closest relatives of humans and other species like birds. It is also the only place in East Africa where travelers can enjoy the canopy walk. You will arrive in the afternoon, have lunch and head out on an evening nature walk to catch up with several birds and primate species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe & Canopy Walk
After breakfast at the lodge in the morning, you will head to the Park offices at the briefing point where you will meet other guests on the guidelines of tracking the Chimps in the Park. You will then hit the jungle in search for the habituated chimps led by a team of guides until you meet the group of Chimpanzees. You will be allowed to use one hour of interaction with the chimps as you take pictures for memories after this amazing experience. Return for lunch after which you will head out for the canopy walk. The canopy walk is a suspended walk way on top of Nyungwe forest and is one of its kind. Return to the lodge later and relax there. Dinner and overnight.
