Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Your 4 Days professional driver guide from Authentic Africa Safaris will meet you up at Kigali airport or your hotel in Kigali. He/she will guide you through the 4 Days 3 nights itinerary, what to do, when and what to expect on this safari. You will then set off driving towards north western region of Rwanda where Volcanoes National Park is located. The rive from Kigali to Volcanoes takes up to 3 hours
Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking
Your day for trekking he endangered mountain gorillas is today! After an early morning breakfast, drive to the park headquarters at Kinigi where registration and pre gorilla trekking briefing takes place. The hike to meet up with gorillas commences at 8:00am lasting between 30 minutes to over 7 hours depending on where the endangered apes will be that day. Expect to meet other wild animals in Volcanoes National Park such as baboons, golden monkeys, velvet monkeys, and forest elephants plus numerous birds and ground insects. Spend an hour in the company of the endangered mountain gorillas to learn and experience their social behaviors similar to human beings.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking & cultural visit
Have an early spiced cup pf coffee and transfer to Kinigi park headquarters for registration and briefing just like for the mountain gorillas. At 8:00am, start up a hike up and down hill trekking to see the endangered golden monkeys. The primates are playful of a kind and worth visiting. Hold your camera tight and enjoy the company of the golden monkeys which jump continuously over your head across tree branches. In the afternoon, go for a cultural visit to the meet, interact and enjoy company of local people. Learn and experience the traditions, norms, customs and beliefs of Rwanda local people and what makes them unique from other countries. More so, enjoy traditional dances and songs which all tell about the uniqueness of Rwanda.
Day 4: Departure
Having had breakfast, check out of your lodge in Volcanoes Park and embark on a drive back to Kigali. You can have a drive through the city center headed to the airport for your catch-up flight.
