Day 1: Pick up & transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Arrive at Kigali international airport, meet and greet the driver guide from Authentic Africa Safaris and have simple briefing on what toe expect and when. Thereafter, embark on a drive south westwards to Nyungwe Forest National Park home to the endangered chimpanzees. You will have a stop at the ethnographic museum of Rwanda in Huye to learn the history and cultures of Rwanda. The drive time from Kigali to Nyungwe Foerst National Park is roughly 5 hours
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk
This day starts very early! Wake up, have breakfast and with your packed lunch, transfer to the chimpanzee trekking briefing point at Uwinka. Alternatively, you can trek in Cyamudongo Forest, the other home for chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest National Park. Enjoy a trek with the endangered chimpanzees which share over 99% of human genes making them close relatives to human beings. The allowed time with chimpanzees is strictly an hour for photos and live videos with the primates. In the afternoon, go for a canopy walk to enjoy Nyungwe Forest, Volcanoes Park and local communities from above. Canopy walk offers you best aerial views of Rwanda’s beauty. Besides, chimpanzees, Nyungwe Forest National Park also shelters other primates such as black and white colubus monkeys,silver monkeys, Ruwenzori Colubus and Velvet monkeys among others
Day 3: Depart
Have morning breakfast at the lodge, check out and transfer back to Kigali for your departure flight. End of the tour
