Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Forest National park
Early in the morning, your best driver guide from Authentic Africa Safaris will pick up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe International Park for the start of the trip. Have a quick brief on the tour and start up a 7-8 hours’ drive to Bwindi impenetrable Forest National park. You shall have a stopover at the Uganda equator for photography and refreshment. Enjoy this full-day drive via Ankole cattle farms, rolling hills, community village, and traditional centers headed to Bwindi Forest. Stopovers to buy roadside roasted muchomo, maize, and fresh fruits make this drive more fun! Overnight stay in Bwindi Forest National Park

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Tour
Your long-awaited day to trek the endangered mountain gorillas is finally here! Wake up very early, refresh and have a heavy breakfast at your lodge. Get your packed lunch, transfer to the respective Park headquarters where you will be registered and briefed on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. The park wardens will put you together in a group of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. The hike to see gorillas start at 800am where you will trek up and downhill in search of the endangered species. The actual time to spend in the jungle is not specific but varies between 2-8 hours depending on the speed of the slowest person in your group and the location of gorillas that day. On your trek to meet gorillas, you may find several other wild animals in Bwindi Forest such as Forest Elephants, baboons, and colobus monkeys, chameleons ad snakes plus various bird species which call this jungle home. Spend an hour with a gorilla family, enjoy how the silverback defends his family members while adult mothers feed babies just like human mothers. A 10-meter distance from gorillas is highly recommended as you take pictures and capture live videos of these man’s close relatives. In the evening, you will visit Batwa cultural villages to learn about their traditional forest lives and how they lived in peace with wild animals for thousands of years before they were evicted from the forest. Enjoy the rest of the evening at your lodge in the middle of the jungle

Day 3: Departure
This is your last day in Bwindi forest. Enjoy your morning sleep and rise up on a spiced hot cup of coffee. You will then check out and embark on a drive back to Kampala for your connecting flight to your next destination.
