Day 1: Pick up, city tour & transfer to Volcanoes National park
The driver guide from Authentic Africa Safaris will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali or the airport to start your 3 Days trip. Have a brief guide through the itinerary and drive to Kigali for a city tour. Visit different tourism destinations such as the Kigali genocide memorial Centre, presidential palace, and Kimironko market for shopping local food fresh fruits. Enjoy the ambiance and calmness of this city which is ranked the cleanest city in the whole of Africa. Have lunch in the city Centre and then drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills northwestwards to Volcanoes National park. Chill at the lodge preparing for the next day’s gorilla trek
Day 2: Gorilla trekking & Ibyiwacu Cultural tour
The long-awaited day for trekking gorillas is finally here! Wake up very early, have breakfast, and transfer to Kinigi Park headquarters for registration and briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. You will be put together in groups of eight and allocated a gorilla family to visit. At 8:00 am you will be guided into the jungle to meet your close relatives. The actual time to spend in the jungle is not certain but rather range between 30 minutes to over 8 hours. Later in the day, visit the Ibyiwacu community village for a cultural performance. Enjoy interesting stories about the traditions, norms, and cultures of Rwanda’s traditional people which make you feel like part of the community. Traditional dances and songs are all performed to entertain and welcome you to Rwanda cultures. Interestingly, you can take part in different traditional practices such as preparing local foods, babysitting, peeling Matoke, and brewing local beer, this whole experience makes your cultural visit more fun and enjoyable.
Day 3: Departure
This is your last day in Volcanoes National park! Have a relaxed sunrise breakfast at the lodge, check out and embark on a drive back to Kigali International Airport. The drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills is magical and memorable!
